Velotric Invited as Demonstrator to Give Lawmakers, Administration Officials and Law Enforcement a Firsthand Look at Electric Bicycle Technology

TRENTON, N.J., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Assemblywoman Tennille R. McCoy will host an E-Bike Demonstration and Education Day on October 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the New Jersey State House in Trenton. Assemblywoman McCoy has invited Velotric, an electric bicycle manufacturer and distributor, to serve as the demonstrator for the day.

Assemblywoman McCoy, who represents New Jersey’s 14th Legislative District, plans to provide policymakers and public officials with a firsthand opportunity to better understand the different types and classes of electric bicycles, how they operate, and the differences in speed, power, pedal-assist and throttle capabilities among various models.

Velotric representatives will demonstrate the bicycles, explain their capabilities and limitations, answer questions and discuss the distinctions between traditional low-speed electric bicycles and higher-powered electric vehicles that may appear similar but operate very differently.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to test ride e-bikes in a controlled setting, providing lawmakers and other participants with direct experience with the technology.

The event comes as New Jersey continues to implement and evaluate its laws governing electric bicycles. The goal of the demonstration is to provide lawmakers, law enforcement, government officials and the public with practical information that can help inform discussions surrounding e-bike safety, enforcement and regulation.

Assemblywoman McCoy has expressed interest in providing fellow lawmakers and other stakeholders with an opportunity to learn more about electric bicycles firsthand and better understand the distinctions among the different types of vehicles currently being discussed in state policy.

Velotric will provide participants with a clearer understanding of which vehicles fall within traditional e-bike classifications, how those bicycles are commonly used, and how they differ from faster and more powerful electric vehicles such as e-motos.

The E-Bike Demonstration and Education Day will take place Thursday, October 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the New Jersey State House in Trenton.

Additional information regarding participating officials and demonstration activities will be announced prior to the event.
